Staff Dates

Kick off summer 2025 with Staff Orientation & Training June 8-15, 2025

Set yourself up to do your best work and make maximum impact. Get a warm welcome from the Director and Lightswitch Staff together with new and returning team members at camp during a week of training specific to your job known as Staff Orientation. You will have plenty of time to settle in to your activity role and your home on cabin row; to have fun getting to know other members of the team; and, complete vital training including Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid, child development training. You will also get to experience some of the traditions and routines specific to Camp Carysbrook all before the campers arrive.

June 4, 2025 Lightswitch Staff arrive by 2pm & most International Staff arrive by 6pm

June 8, 2025 any other Staff arrive

June 8 – 15 2025 Staff Orientation & Training

August 3, 2025 campers depart in the morning & Staff Closing Banquet

August 4, 2025 Non-Lightswitch staff depart upon successful close down of their activity and cabin & Lightswitch Staff Dinner

August 5, 2025 Lightswitch Staff depart upon successful close down of their activity and other responsibilities

Staff Packing List

US Staff can use the Equipment Needs camper packing list as a guide.

Check out the International Staff Packing List if you are arriving internationally . You will NOT need to pack bed linens and towels if you are international staff.

Be certain to bring any over the counter and/or prescription medications or supplements you may need while at camp. Keep in mind medications may be different or not available in the US and it can be difficult once at camp to get a prescription from a physician and to get it filled.

You will find it helpful, even critical, to bring the following in addition:

a computer or ipad to be stored in the office or staff lounge
a backpack to carry your Staff binder, attendance sheets, and other equipment for running your activity
snacks to keep in the Staff Lounge
your own car if that’s an option for flexibility and independence during time off staff parking available on the property
