Mission
Provide a place where girls experience true community; living and working together in a beautiful, natural setting.
Camp Carysbrook provides a place where girls experience true community, living and working together in a beautiful, natural setting. Our flexible program of group and individual, organized and impromptu activities allows each camper to discover her own abilities, challenge herself to accomplish new goals, and experience the satisfaction of personal growth.
At the same time, the traditional camp environment allows girls to learn about the rewards and challenges of being part of a group – relying upon one another to tackle common goals and accomplish more than they might individually. The balance of self-expression and collective experience is what makes Camp Carysbrook a place like no other – a part of their lives that girls will remember forever.
From the Director and Leadership to the Camp Owners, the team at Camp Carysbrook is committed to welcoming staff and campers from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences who share our camp philosophy and mission. We strive to cultivate a community that values both physical and emotional safety and to support camper and staff families in achieving the meaningful outcomes that make Camp Carysbrook a summer to remember, no matter their background or life experience.
To uphold this commitment, our staff receive training focused on fostering understanding, empathy, and respect for others. Campers take part in age-appropriate cabin discussions that encourage appreciation of differences, kindness, and inclusion, helping them contribute to a caring and connected camp community.
Camp Carysbrook strives to provide a social and physical environment that promotes, develops and enhances the emotional, social, and spiritual potential of each camper and assists them in the discovery and enjoyment of themselves and the richness of life as they grow and develop.
The camp mission and philosophy are the basis for everything at Carysbrook; from the hiring of staff and recruiting of campers through the orientation of campers and staff to the program. Staff is committed to the philosophy and incorporates these goals into their activities and general camp life.
