We have proudly and deliberately kept our facilities rustic and simple. We want our girls to enjoy the beauty of nature and the quiet of spending time outside…well, not so quiet in the summer!
Our cabins blend into the natural environment. They have electricity and 4 bunkbeds in each. For years, campers have written their names on the inside of cabins so they can come back and find them later. Campers love to try to find the oldest name and the perfect place for their own name.
This is what we call our Bath House, it is short for Garden House. This building is used by the whole camp for restrooms and showers. One side has both showers and restrooms and the other side has lots of restrooms and sinks.
This is where the girls eat their meals. We pride ourselves on having nutritious home cooked meals. Our meals are served family style and girls have table groups so they can mix and mingle and meet new friends! At the end of meals, the quiet chatter is replaced buy singing which is a camp favorite. We also use the Dining Hall for some activities like dance, tumbling and fencing.
We have a beautiful lake in the heart of camp that houses activities like swim lessons, free swim, synchronized swimming and canoeing.
Hugging camp is the Little River. We use the river for activites like tubing, canoeing, ecology and for swimming with the horses.
Part of our CAP program (Carysbrook Adventure Program) is the climbing wall. Campers learn and practice their skills before heading out to the real rocks!
Arts & Crafts:
If creating is your passion, this is the place for you! Campers get to try their hand at lots of different types of art here. From tie dye to jewelry and clay to photography, we have something for everyone!
Drama is a fun place to be! Campers get to learn about improv, set design, costuming and becoming comfortable in front of a crowd. Campers perform short acts as well as showcase a full production at the end of the summer.
The Backpack Shack:
This is where we have OLS (Outdoor Living Skills). Campers can learn how to pitch a tent, build a fire, tie knots and just about anything that will get them ready for a fun overnight either on property or on the trail!
The Nature Hut:
The Nature Hut is where campers learn about things like plant and animal identification, astronomy and ecology.
Archery & Riflery:
These activity areas are on target! Whether you have been doing either of these activities for years or you have never tried them before… Camp Carysbrook staff are on duty to coach you and manage risk at these exciting target sports!
Our riding program is like no other. Our lessons have 3-5 riders with 2-3 staff, so our instruction is close to one on one. We have beginner riders up to jumpers. We offer overnights with the horses as well as other fun horse-related activities weekly.
