Colleen Hagan Egl
The Director, Colleen Hagan Egl comes from a long line of Carysbrook campers dating back to Carysbrook’s beginnings with the Prestons. She attended camp in the 1980’s, worked as a WIT and counselor, and today her daughters Hannah and Lena spend their summers at Carysbrook.
Colleen graduated from James Madison University with a BA in English and History. Upon graduation she moved to Europe where she lived until 2005 when she and her husband Johannes relocated their family to Chatham, New Jersey. Most recently, the Egl family has moved to the Charlottesville area.
Colleen has worked in Product Planning, Technical Documentation and Quality Assurance for Sony Digital Telecommunications in Munich, Germany as well as Volvo Penta of the America’s in Chesapeake, Virginia in Quality Assurance. She has served on the PTO Board in addition to serving as co-Service Unit Manager for Chatham and Troop Leader for the Girl Scouts. Taking on the responsibilities of the Director of Camp Carysbrook full-time in 2012, Colleen is passionate about providing a safe and fun camp experience for girls and maintaining the magic and traditions of Camp Carysbrook for years to come.
